Spring brings a welcome seasonal change when we look forward to fresh, new colours and textures in our make-up wardrobe. Our renewed energy should be reflected in our appearance, Spring is a great time to freshen up our make-up bags by replacing matte Winter colours with soft pastel shades. The brighter days allow for more light reflective textures, luminating products and the return of lip gloss.
For the past couple of seasons the tan has been out, with the fashionable option being ‘pale and interesting’, but coming into Spring/Summer 08 we see a return to a more tanned complexion. A glowing tan always makes you feel and look better, but be warned you should be opting for a ‘glow’ not the ‘tango effect’! So many girls still wear a tan year round, when did we ever have a yearly tan? It is nice to introduce a soft glow in the Spring, but don’t overdo it as it will look too artificial.
The alternative is a natural ‘English Rose’ look with flushed pink cheeks and rosy lips, which compliment the pretty floral fashions that are so prevalent this season. I recommend Lola Crème Blush in ‘Calypso’ available from The Make-up Boutique.
