I am so excited about our gorgeous new make-up line- Senna, which is not available anywhere else in Europe.
We are very excited to announce the date of our next Refresher Course- we have already had many queries about this!!
Our Fashion and Photographic Students work towards two photo-shoots at the end of the course. These shoots will provide the basis of their portfolio. A portfolio is the most important marketing tool available to anyone who works in a visual industry and is essential for a make-up artist.
Check out this cool shoot from Fate magazine- the make-up was done by Azelia from the Elite Team and the shoot was styled by Sara O´Neill- both teach here in the school.
If you´ve ever been to a fashion show I´m sure you´ve been in awe of the beautiful statuesque models on the catwalk. I wonder have you ever given a thought to the team backstage that create the show? Check out the amazing pics of backstage at this years Spring into summer.
Samantha Weightman was the deserving winner of this year´s Make-up Excellence Awards. The award was presented at the first night of Magner´s Light Spring into Summer at St Georges Market.

It doesn´t seem six months since Spring into Summer, but as we´ve spent the last month working on Fall for Fashion, I guess it must be!!

As part of the run-up to Fall for Fashion we did a shoot for Fate Magazine.
The press launch for FFF09 took place last Thursday in the Kitchen Bar beside Victoria Square.
Sometimes people coming for interview aren´t sure where we are located- especially if they aren´t from Belfast! So I´ve uploaded a map of the area to make it a bit easier to find us!
The fashion event ‘Magners Light Spring into Summer’ was a huge success again this season, although it was two days of hard work for us!!
When you look at a beautiful fashion image in a magazine you probably don´t realise the work that is going on behind the scenes. So i thought I´d give you a bit of an insight into our student´s photoshoot which took place on Wednesday.
The first Make-up Excellence Award was presented on the first night of Spring into Summer. The winner was Michelle Shaw from Bangor.

The final of the first Make-up Excellence Awards took place yesterday here at the school. It was such an exciting day and I think Sara and I were as nervous as the finalists!
I often get phone-calls from people asking about the differences between our two courses.
Our first ‘Make-up Excellence Awards’ getting very exciting! Our six finalists will be meeting with our panel of judges at the beginning of March to demonstrate their make-up skills.
We’ve been so busy recently, both with the school and with our freelance fashion work.
Our Fashion students completed the second part of their photo-shoot last week with amazing results!

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the school we have launched Northern Ireland’s first ever ‘Make-up Excellence Awards’, to recognise the wealth of talented student Make-up Artists who have attended my ‘Make-up School of Excellence’ in 2008.

Fall for Fashion, the biannual fashion event which takes place in St George’s market, was a huge success this season, attracting over 1500 people.
As I have mentioned previously in this diary, I am the make-up artist for Fall for Fashion, the bi-annual fashion event that takes place in St. Georges Market.
For the last few months we have had an unprecedented amount of interest in both the Fashion and Photographic and the Advanced Make-up Diplomas.

As usual the summer months have been hectic with photo-shoots and press-calls for Autumn fashion launches. My Brides have kept me busy during the last few months, in total I have been involved in over 15 wedding since June!! Summer also gives me a welcome opportunity to update the School coursework with current make-up techniques and new ideas. .
I recently did the make-up at the Sex and the City-inspired ‘Sublime in the City’ Fashion show at the Odyssey Arena. You can see some of the shots here.
Last week was really hectic- as well overseeing our Fashion and Photographic Student’s photo-shoot at the University of Ulster, I also did the make-up at the hugely successful ‘Deadly Designer’ night of the Magners Light Spring into Summer Fashion show at St. Georges Market.
Our Fashion and Photographic student’s High Fashion photo-shoot took place last week. For this shoot we collaborated with the University of Ulster’s Fashion department, using some of the third year student’s designs and shooting on location at the University. See some examples of this in our ‘Student’s Portfolio’ section.

For any of you that think that working in the fashion industry is glamorous- think again! This shoot took place two days after Christmas in the freezing cold and rain at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, but we think it was worth the suffering!
The school recently had a stand at the Glow Show at the Kings Hall, and was inundated with inquiries from both beauty professionals involved in the show and members of the public looking for a career change.
